A warm welcome to all those participating in what is the ninth year of the Glasgow City Cup 2010.
With teams travelling from England, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales to take part, some considerable effort has been put into co-ordinating this event. Organised by the SYFA West Region with support from Glasgow Life, SFA West Region, Soccerade and, of course, the many volunteers involved, I have no doubt that the event will give young players the chance to develop their skills as well as fostering a positive attitude to football.
To make the most of the talent on display at Toryglen, Glasgow Green and Greenfield, I hope that all the players are given full encouragement by their coaches and parents to fulfil their potential.
Above all, I wish you an enjoyable and positive experience.
