For 2010 the Glasgow City Cup will be split over 2 weekends.

The first weekend (30th July to 1st August) will see the Soccer 7’s Festival and 12s non competitive 11 a sides and is FULL.

The main 11 a side Tournament is ALMOST FULL and will start on Friday 6th Aug 2010 with the 13s to 21s competitive tournament. Minimum of FOUR games per team -most teams playing five.  In fact we have now declined 16 applications as sections are full, so make sure all payments and paperwork are in order.

FOOTWEAR RESTRICTIONS - All Astro Grass facilities - There is a ban on metal studs and any type of blades within Glasgow on these facilities. This covers all Toryglen facilities - Pitch 1 at Glasgow Green and Pitch 7 at Greenfield.

PC Plum from the Cbeebies BAFTA award winning childrens programme BALAMORY will officially open the Soccer Sevens Festival on Saturday 31st July at Toryglen Regional Football Centre, Prospecthill Road, Glasgow at 9.45am.

PC Plum will be accepting donations on behalf of the Tournament Charities Cash for Kids and CHAS - all donations for photgraphs and autographs will be given equally to the two Tournament Charities. He will be available between 10am and 12.30pm so why not take this opportunity to make a donation to the these two really worth while charities.

There will also be face painting and other fun events taking place - again donations from all events will go to charity.

Due to one club entering the tournament at the wrong age level we now have ONE space at the 1996 age level. Make applications via the Tournament Application link in the left hand column.

186 teams have applied so far.   ALL age groups are closed -  with  ONE week to go. High calibre - 20 team tournaments at most age levels - this will not be easy to win!

Welcome back to St Oliver Plunkett F C (Northern Ireland) this year with three teams. Welcome to Penrhosgarnedd FC from Bangor, North Wales and Castleknock Celtic FC from Dublin.

The countdown has now begun to this weekend’s festival of football. The soccer sevens festival will consist of 6 short games over two days on 31st July and 1st August - Festival with Gala Day on the Saturday - face painting - stalls - charity day. There will be a Tournament Photographer - sports and tv personalities - The entry fee is £70 including SYFA Permit if applied for before 16th July.

This competition is "Trophy Free" all participants will receive a memento of the event

The excitement is now building as the under 12s Age level - trophy free festival - has six short matches over two days - 31st July and 1st August , great for pre season festival of football for the kids

Matches will be played at Greenfield Football Centre, Duror Street, Glasgow on 6 grass football pitches. Each team will play three shorter matches per day with all participants receiving a memento of the tournament. Festival football - no recording of scores. An ideal way to prepare your team for their first season of 11 a side football.
