Two different Tournament Weekends

Welcome to the Glasgow City Cup Website

 For 2010 the Glasgow City Cup will be split over 2 weekends. The first weekend (30th July to 1st August) will see the Soccer 7’s Festival and the introduction of a Pro Section and Girls Sections. The main 11 a side Tournament will start on Friday 6th Aug 2010.

The online application form is available now. We would anticipate a larger participation in 2010 and our Tournament Partners are working with overseas teams to increase that element as well. To help with this we have now added a translation facility to convert the site into any language.

New Translation Feature

Thanks to Demosphere and Google we have now been able to add a translate function to the site. Using the tool which is in the top left of the marging you can translate the site into any language. This improvement is to promote the Tournament abroad and to allow overseas Teams to read about the Largest Tournament in Scotland.

Find out what’s new for the 2010 Tournament. we now have our first Forty Teams entered some new and some old friends returning to participate in next years accredited Tournament. New Year Honours Award for Tournament Director
Jim Smith awarded an MBE

Tournament Director Jim Smith has been awarded an MBE in the 2010 New Years Honours List announced on 31st Dec. Jim has been involved in Youth Football for 30 Years and was recognised for the voluntary service to Youth Football in Glasgow
